Peter Sidorko He is 27 years old of experience in college libraries, in Australia and Hong Kong. He is currently the vice-librarian at the University of Hong Kong, a position he has held since 2001. He is in charge of the full range of public services, technical services and technological innovations for the entire college library system, which consists of a Central Library and sector six libraries, a team of around 240 people and a collection of more than 2.5 million volumes, as well as a rich and growing digital collection, including 1.3 million e-books and more than 40,000 electronic journals. Peter is also a part-time professor in the Information Science course at the University, offered by the School of Education and also at the University School of Continuing Education, HKU SPACE, with themes focusing on information policy, management, leadership and strategic planning. His interest in effective management and leadership in libraries led him to the prize University of Hong Kong's Annual Library Leadership Institute, which aims to develop leadership in librarians over the region, now in its eighth year of operation. Peter was also a college member of the Australasian Educause Leadership Institute, from 2001 to 2003. « return |
